A Modern Ukrainian Community<\/b><\/p>\n

The School of Ukrainian Studies is first and foremost a warm community of families that value bringing the culture and language of Ukraine to their kids. Some families speak fluently at home and are hoping to encourage more reading and writing, while other families speak English at home and this is their only form of Ukrainian instruction.<\/p>\n

In all cases our goal is to help your children love this school and love the Ukrainian language and culture. In the heart of New York City\u2019s \u201cLittle Ukraine\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

The School of Ukrainian Studies is located in New York City\u2019s \u201cLittle Ukraine\u201d neighborhood of the East Village, steps away from famed Ukrainian restaurant\u00a0Veselka<\/a>, and Ukrainian grocer\u00a0East Village Meat Market<\/a>. Enjoy their smoked meats, blintzes, kapusta and vereniki just like \u0431\u0430\u0431\u0443\u043d\u044f used to make!<\/p>\n

New York City\u2019s first free public library is just across the street (Ottendorfer Branch<\/a>) and stocks a fantastic selection of children\u2019s books in Ukrainian.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Ukrainian Museum<\/a>\u00a0on 6th street offers a deep look at traditional and modern Ukrainian art.<\/p>\n

Other Popular Youth Programs Nearby<\/b><\/p>\n

Many students of the School of Ukrainian Studies at CYM participate in other fun programs that help them learn new skills, build character and enjoy lasting friendships. These include:<\/p>\n

CYM<\/a>, (Ukrainian American Youth Association)is an organization that works to enable young Ukrainians from different countries to communicate with one another, to help one another in spiritual, intellectual, social, cultural, educational and physical spheres, and to grow up in the spirit of the patriotic mission – “God and Ukraine”. Special events take place throughout the year, including summer camps.\u00a0 Youth meeting takes place at our school on Saturdays from 1:15-3pm.<\/p>\n

Interested in soccer and volleyball for your children?\u00a0Ukrainian Sports Club (YCK)<\/a> has open registration available online now ((https:\/\/www.ukrainiansportsclubny.com\/)!
